The Time Has Come.

Wow. I am heading home today.  I can not believe this journey to Washington, D.C. has came to an end. I am very sad to leave. DC has became my home and I love the city so much. But I can not wait to get home and see my family!

I got to the airport really early, so I figured that I might as well post about my trip. These last few weeks have been great. Here are some of my favorite things that happened!

1. I got to go to my first MLB game! If you know me, you know I baseball is my favorite sport (not only for baseball butts ;)) My family doesn't really go out and do much, so it is up to me to do things like that! I got to see my lover, Bryce Harper, so I guess that makes up for it not being the Cards.

 2. One day last week, my awesome roommate Bethany and I went on a bike ride around the city! We wanted to go at night time so we could see the monuments all bright and pretty! It was awesome!  I am so glad that I got to do that. Capitol BikeShare is the way to go if you really want to tour the city at your own pace, and it is super cheap!

 3. I also got the privilege to go to the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. It was one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had. Seeing the tomb of the unknown and all of the tombstones was surreal. It really puts it into perspective how many people have fought and died for our country.

4. One of my favorite things I got to do while in the city, was meet people! I got to meet U.S. Representative Sean Duffy (WI-7) and U.S. Representative Illeanan Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27). I also got to meet the Republican candidate for Oregon's seat in the US Senate, Dr. Monica Wehby! Hearing what she had to say was amazing. I think she would make an amazing congresswoman to represent! Her motivation for running was this little boy who survived a brain tumor (operated on by Dr. Wehby) and he wrote on a card to her that said "Live to help other people". That is amazing. If you are not living to help other people and make the world a better place, why are you living? Here are some pictures of meeting with them!

Meeting members of Congress was amazing, but the CRNC team welcomed me more than I ever imagined. I am so thankful for getting close to them! Next time I come to visit (which will be very soon) I will go by the office and see all of them! They are great people, and I really consider them all great friends after my internship with them! I can't believe I am saying this but, it is time to go home.
